Nvidia confirms Ion 2:
"Nvidia has confirmed it will release a version of the Ion GPU (graphics processing unit) compatible with Intel's new Pine Trail Atom platform. The new chip, which will reportedly boost performance substantially, will arrive during the first quarter of next year
Nvidia says Ion-based products can have DDR3 memory interfaces with frontside bus speeds of up to 1066MHz. Graphically, they're said to support DirectX 10, offer resolutions up to 2560 x 1600 pixels, provide 1080p HD video playback, and deliver HDMI, VGA, DisplayPort, and dual-link DVI video outputs.

Sony teams up with RealD for 3D

While Sony is certainly no stranger to 3D, RealD has proven more than capable when it comes to active shutter technology (when the company partnered up with 3ality to broadcast an NFL game).
According to the Wall Street Journal, Sony will license RealD's technology and equipment (including 3D eyewear) for use on its TVs and other products -- with the fruits of this partnership due to hit store shelves sometime next year. Could this be the big push that home 3D has been waiting for?
